Charles, Prince of Wales, heir to the throne of the United Kingdom, for many years had a BFF by the name of Laurens van der Post -- Sir Laurens Jan van der Post, CBE, to give him his full name and title. Besides being a close friend to the prince, Sir Larry, who died in 1996, was an Afrikaner author, farmer, war hero, political adviser to British heads of government, educator, journalist, humanitarian, philosopher, explorer, conservationist and godfather to Prince William.
Prince Charles and Sir Laurens used to correspond on matters large and small, sorting out, as only members of the elite can, the problems of the world. Some of their letters have been published, some not. One that came to light just recently was a letter from the prince to the knight in 1986, excerpted in a major article in the Mail Online on Friday.
In the missive, written on 24 November 1986, immediately after an official visit the prince (then 38) made to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar, he expresses his concerns that the exodus of European Jews in the middle of the 20th century "helped to cause great problems." He gives his own view of the conflict with Israel by repeating an Arabist vision of the region. "Also begin to understand their point of view about Israel," he wrote, adding that 40 years after Israel's creation he "never realised they see it as a US colony."
"I now appreciate that Arabs and Jews were all a Semitic people originally and it is the influx of foreign, European Jews (especially from Poland they say) which has helped to cause great problems," he continued. "I know there are so many complex issues, but how can there ever be an end to terrorism unless the causes are eliminated? Surely some U.S. president has to have the courage to stand up and take on the Jewish lobby in the US?" he added, before ending with, "I must be naïve, I suppose! Charles."
Yes, Your Highness. Not just naïve but misinformed. Everyone knows there's no "Jewish lobby" in the USA. If you don't believe me, just ask the New York Times or the Washington Post.

VIDEO: Libertarian film producer Aaron Russo explains how 9/11, the war on terror and globalization all fit together to enslave us
Aaron Russo was an American entertainment businessman, film producer and director, and political activist. He was best known for producing such movies as Trading Places, Wise Guys, and The Rose. More importantly, later in life he became a staunch libertarian, and created a number of political documentaries including Mad as Hell and America: Freedom to Fascism. On 14 February 2004 (his 61st birthday), Mr Russo gave his full endorsement to the Free State Project, an agreement among 20,000 participants to move to New Hampshire for "Liberty in Our Lifetime."
In January of 2004, Mr Russo declared his candidacy for the Presidency of the United States, initially as an independent but then as a Libertarian. Polish patriots celebrate Independence Day
I admit to being bad on dates. Just terrible. Ask Mrs Walt and she'll tell you. [So will several of your agents! Ed.] Until being reminded this afternoon, I had forgotten that today was the 99th anniversary of Poland's rebirth as a nation in 1918, after having been wiped off the map for 123 years. So, even though it's late in the day, I and Poor Len Canayen [and Ed.! Ed.] wish the people of Poland HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
News reports coming in on the AP mojo wire say that, without waiting for our good wishes, something like 60,000 Polish nationalists marched through the streets of Warsaw, under the slogan "We Want God", words from an old Polish hymn that President Trump quoted from during a visit earlier this year. They carried the white-and-red national flag and lit red flares, filling the night sky with a red glow, as can be seen in this photo.
In recent years, the march, organized by groups which in the decadent nations of the West would be called "white nationalist" or even "white supremacist", has become the largest Independence Day event in Poland, overshadowing official state observances and other patriotic events. Speakers addressing the crowd spoke of standing against liberals and defending Christian values. Some participants carried banners reading "White Europe of brotherly nations."
The march has become one of the largest such demonstrations in Europe. Today it drew nationalist leaders from other countries, including Tommy Robinson from the UK and Roberto Fiore from Italy. State broadcaster TVP called the event a "great march of patriots" which drew, for the most part, not extremists but regular Poles expressing their love of their country. "It was a beautiful sight," said Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak. "We are proud that so many Poles have decided to take part in a celebration connected to the Independence Day holiday."
Earlier in the day, President Andrzej Duda presided over state ceremonies also attended by European Union president Donald Tusk, a former Polish prime minister. Mr Duda oversaw ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, walking past a military guard before the raising of the flags and cannon salute. After delivering a speech, he took part in a wreath-laying ceremony, kneeling and crossing himself at the monument to all unknown soldiers killed fighting for the country.
Walt hangs his head in shame that such a joyously patriotic celebration is unlikely to happen in Britain, Canada or the USA. Except for me and (I hope) you, dear reader, we Westerners have been brainwashed by the liberal politicians and the lamestream media into hating ourselves too much.

Lest we forget
Some call it by its old name: Armistice Day. Others call it Remembrance Day. Still others know it only as November 11th. No matter what you call it, November 11th is, or should be more than just a date. It's a day to remember those who gave their lives for our countries in a number of wars.
The exact number of wars is debatable. Depends which country you're talking about, and who's counting. But they were all "good wars"... "just wars"... right? They all needed to be fought, right? To preserve freedom and democracy and equality and all those other Good Things. Right? Maybe it's all debatable.
The "Armistice" in Armistice Day refers to the truce proclaimed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 -- the armistice that ended the Great War, the war that would end all wars. But, as "The Ballad of Willie McBride" (aka "The Green Fields of France") says, it all happened again... And again... And again.
It all happened before, too. Remembrance Day 2017 is close enough to being the 205th anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights, fought on the west side of the Niagara River near the beginning of the War of 1812. One side was fighting for freedom and democracy. The other side was fighting for, errr, freedom and democracy.
Remembrance Day 2017 is also about seven weeks past the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Sharpsburg (aka Antietam), in which more Americans died than in any other single engagement in any other war... ever. 12,000 Union troops died that day, as did 10,500 Confederate soldiers. They were all fighting for freedom and democracy. They just had different ideas of what those words meant.
The Battle of Sharpsburg preceded by not quite three months the Battle of Fredericksburg, which was just about as bloody. As they surveyed the carnage, General Robert E. Lee said to General James Longstreet, "It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it."
But it seems we have grown too fond of it. Perhaps it's because advances in technology have reduced the body counts. On "our side", at least. Or maybe it's the advances in medicine and hygiene which means that, nowadays, more soldiers and sailors and airmen die of wounds than of disease and starvation.
Whatever it is, we seem to scarcely finish one war before starting another. Sometimes we don't even wait for the first war to end, so we can fight two or three or four wars all at the same time. All for freedom, democracy, equality, human rights, and generally to make the world a better place. For "our side", at least.
Not all of the thousands upon thousands who died fighting our "good wars" did so for the sake of freedom and all that. Some of them did, sure, but some of them died because they obeyed orders and went unflinchingly to the death to which they were sent. It is those men and women -- the ones who didn't want to be there and shouldn't have been there in the first place -- whom Walt and Poor Len [and Ed.] remember today.

VIDEO: Meanwhile, in the Middle East, something big is on the horizon
Are we witnessing the beginning of a bigger Middle East war? ISIS seems to be just about finished, at least in the sense of occupying a defined territory. The Syrian government of Basher Assad has overrun the last ISIS stronghold and seems likely to turn its attention to putting the Kurds back in their place. The Kurds are also being attacked by the so-called Iraqi National Army. Those conflicts will continue, while the western powers dither about whose side they should be on. Here's the scary part. The fighting in Syria and Iraq is just a proxy war, a smaller part of the larger Muslim civil war between the Shi'ites (read: Iran) and the Sunnis (read: Saudi Arabia). Recent events suggest that an escalation of that conflict is imminent. This month has seen a huge purge among Saudi royals, accusations of Lebanese aggression, and threats by Hezbollah. Recent semi-secret trips by (((Jared Kushner))), President Trump's son-in-law and advisor to visit with the Saudi crown prince raise questions about the position of the USA. Israeli policy seems to be lining up with Saudi regional policy against Iran and Hezbollah. The Yemen war is at a standstill. Tensions are rising throughout the sandpit.
Is this the start of something big? In the November 7th edition of the Ron Paul Liberty Report (running time 16:50) Dr. Paul and co-host Daniel McAdams analyze the signs and portents, and conclude that we are getting ever closer to a major conflict. Notice that I didn't use the word "Armageddon", but only because they didn't use it!

"Naked Nisku" kidnappers under influence of "trippy tea"?
Walt promised to keep you posted on the bizarre case of the five naked kidnappers (the kidnapping is alleged, the nudity is not) arrested in the wilds of northern Alberta, Canada, earlier this week. Here's an update of our initial post, "5 naked people arrested in Alberta car crash", WWW 6/11/17.
What is clear is that five people -- one man and four women, three adults and two youths -- were found naked in a car following a crash on a rural road near Nisku, south of Edmonton AB. Three other people, barefoot but otherwise clothed, were also at the scene, having been picked up by the driver of a pickup truck (of course) who thought they needed help. (Duh!)
What is not clear is whether the pickup truck hit the BMW full of naked people, or the other way around. Even more of a mystery is what caused the five naked people to abduct the other three from their nearby home and take them for a ride. Charges of kidnapping have been laid by the RCMP, but no conviction is possible without proof of mens rea -- "the guilty mind", or criminal intent. So the question arises: What were they thinking??!!
A relative, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the minors (who have been released without charge) thinks he's got it figured out. He reckons that the Naked Nisku gang may have "unknowingly" drunk some hallucinogenic tea over breakfast! "It's absolutely crazy," said the relative. "It’s a scary thought thinking, 'Oh, let's try this tea that we purchased,' and then all sit down thinking they're just going to have a nice morning and end up in that circumstance."
The relative said he wants everyone to know the accused are not bad people. They just had some trippy tea. He said his two daughters, who are 13 and 15, and his ex-wife were having breakfast with two friends -- a man and his wife. The man had recently travelled overseas and brought back some tea from India. The relative did not know the name of the tea, which he said "kicked off the whole crazy spell."
The Mounties' version of the story is that a man, woman and baby were forced against their will from a home in Leduc County into a BMW. Inside the car were five naked people. While the car was being driven, the abducted man, who was in the trunk, managed to escape. The woman and her baby then managed to get away. The trio were picked up by a passerby, but his work truck was rammed from behind by the car. When officers arrived, they pulled out the five naked people. The adults, who were 27, 30 and 35, were arrested, but two teenaged girls were not charged.
The 35-year-old woman, who had already been released from custody, made a first appearance Thursday in Leduc court. She is charged with two counts of kidnapping, mischief damaging property over $5,000 and resisting a peace officer. The 30-year-old woman has been charged with three counts of kidnapping and one count of resisting a peace officer. The 27-year-old man, her husband, faces the same charges.
The relative said he laughed about the case when he heard it on the news, then was shocked to learn that his straight-laced daughters were involved. "I was just like, what the heck?" He visited his youngest girl in hospital, where she had been taken with some of the other suspects for treatment. They don't remember what happened, the man said. "Whatever potency that stuff had obviously is making it so it’s just a big blur," he said, adding blood tests were also taken at the hospital. "“Nothing came back like illicit drugs, so they figure it may have been some type of herbal drug or something."
He said the three people who were forced from their homes are also family friends and aren't holding any grudges. They probably opened their door that morning trying to help, he suggested. He also believes their car rammed the truck because the tea made those inside think the family had been abducted by the truck driver, not the other way around. To all these anti-Trumpers (but especially the CBC's Keith Boag, MSNBC's Rachel Madcow and the wimmin at The View)... Donald Trump is still POTUS!A year has passsed, and the gliberals, the chattering classes and the lamestream meeja are still in denial. They're still pissing and moaning, but they can't change that fact. Nor can all their talk of impeachment change the fact that Mr Trump will remain in the White House until January of 2021, and perhaps for another four years after that!
Not that the Trump-haters aren't trying to bring his administration to a premature end. The (((liberal media))) are still churning out the fake news, counting what they say are lies and pointing the finger of scorn at the President's supposed gaffes. The latest example of their anti-Trump hysteria is the Great Koi Feeding Scandal, which turned out to be nothing of the sort.
You've probably seen the video of President Trump dumping a large quantity of fish food into a pool full of loi -- the huge goldfish beloved of east Asians -- while on a state visit to Japan. In a headline since taken down, the British newspaper The Independent raged "Trump tramples Japanese koi carp ritual". We all know you're supposed to feed goldfish slowly, and only a little bit, right? Otherwise you'll find them belly up in the water the next morning. So what POTUS did was supposed to show his disregard for the fish, the environment, and Japanese customs.
The only problem is, he was only following the lead of his host, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who had done the same thing only moments before. The whole thing was just a case of two world leaders doing a boring photo op. How did it become such a big, anti-Trump deal on all the lamestream networks? Because the so-called "journalists" and their (((masters))) wanted it so. Mr Trump may be... hell, he is the President of the USA, but the media bias against him is just as strong or stronger than it was a year ago.
The 2017 Edelman Trust Barometer reveals that trust is in crisis around the world. People's trust in all four key institutions -- business, government, NGOs, and media -- has declined broadly, and rightly so. People no longer believe that the "system" is working for them. Their societal and economic concerns -- globalization, the pace of innovation, immigration and eroding social values -- have become fears, spurring the rise of populism now playing out in the USA and other Western democracies. It's that lack of trust that doomed Hellery Clinton's campaign and got The Donald elected!
