"You don't understand! It's part of our culture!"

Under the headline "Afghan Facing Trial for Raping Goats and Sheep", the European Conservative reports that a 19-year-old follower of the Prophet, a "refugee" from Afghanistan, is set to stand trial in France after being accused of repeatedly abusing goats and sheep near Marseille.

The suspect was arrested on the night of 10 April 10th by the anti-crime brigade in the municipality of Les Pennes-Mirabeau, following a series of incidents reported by livestock owners.

Since early 2026, farmers had reported finding various injured animals, all showing signs of sexual abuse. Some animals were found with their legs bound. In an effort to identify the perpetrator, owners installed motion-activated cameras on their land.

The footage, which showed a young man approaching the herds, was later used by police to identify and apprehend the suspect. The accused has been placed in custody and faces charges related to acts of cruelty against domestic animals, which carry a potential sentence of up to three years in prison and a €45,000 fine.

Thanks to the good folks at Blazing Cat Fur for alerting us to this one!

Arizona State U workshop on masturbation has been renamed

Arizona State University is nothing if not progressive -- more so than you would expect, being in Arizona and all. They have a wide variety of programmes, courses, seminars and special events, including a workshop coming up on February 13th.

"Go Love Yourself" is a workshop on the art and science of masturbation, originally titled "Go Fuck Yourself". The event will cover topics of sexual self-gratification such as, errr, masturbation. It will feature a training session from Natalie Treacy, who is described in the Facebook posting for the workshop as a "pleasure professional".

The full text of the FB page reads as follows: "Getting in touch with yourself by touching yourself. Join pleasure professional Natalie Treacy for a shame-free, pleasure focused discussion about masturbation and self exploration to get the pleasure you want and deserve."

The event is part of the ASU undergraduate student government's series on the topic of sexuality in recent history. Last November, they organized a lecture titled "The Sex Ed You Deserve" in co-operation with the Ontario Ministry of Education. [Ed., please check that before posting. There's going to be an election in Ontario in the spring and I wouldn't want to slur Kathleen Wynne's government by suggesting that they are deliberately teaching autoeroticism and other progressive perversions.] In addition to these events, they hired a Director of Sexual Wellbeing to oversee all matters relating to sexuality on campus. Now, there's a job for you. Wonder how many thousand applicants they had?

But wait (as Vince Offer used to say), there's more! In addition to the Director of Sexual Wellbeing, the Arizona State student government has announced plans to create another advisory position -- the Director of Intimacy and Healthy Relationships, who will oversee issues of intimacy and healthy relationships on campus.

This a joke, right? Satire created by The People's Cube? Not at all! Doubters are welcome to consult the student government's website, which claims that the director's active participation in discussions surrounding sexuality will help prevent sexual violence on campus. "By bridging the gap between sexual assault and other topics such as gender identity, birth control, or STI prevention and testing, we have the power to positively affect intimacy on our campus," is what the blurb says. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Note from Ed.: This announcement is presented by Walt Whiteman's World as a public service. If the picture accompanying this message is not the Natalie Treacy, we apologize, and will delete it just as soon as the facilitator send us her photo. I'm still looking into the involvement of the Ontario Ministry of Education, though.

Man denied sex, unleashes revenge fart

The following story appeared this afternoon on Canada's PostMedia network.

He wanted sex -- and wasn't just full of hot air.

A woman in Sweden called police to report a man farted in her apartment after she refused to have sex with him.

According to regional newspaper Hallandsposten, the unnamed woman told police the man delivered the "revenge fart" before leaving her apartment in a huff.

The gas disturbed her "peace of mind," she said.

"It smelled very bad in the apartment," she noted, according to the police.

That's it... the hole story...

Sex on train tracks thrilling but deadly

Does this look to you like a good place to have sex? Thrilling, maybe, but safe, definitely not! And yet a 30-something Ukrainian woman and her 41-year-old partner did just that, on the train tracks running through the middle of Kiev.

The pair had been walking home after a night out, this past weekend, when they felt the urge to have sex. "Returning from our friends', my girlfriend and I could not overcome our passionate nature and wanted to feel a sense of thrill near a railway track," the man reportedly told police in a statement. The cops confirmed that drink had been taken.

Caught by a train with their pants down, the amorous pair suffered dire consequences of giving in to their lust. The woman was killed instantly and the man has his legs amputated below the knee. The woman thus leaps to the top of the heap (of corpses) in the race for this year's Gold Darwin Award.

According to Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs, in a release picked up by the International Business Times, police have opened a criminal probe over a potential safety violation. They did not say whether the person under investigation is the legless lover or the train driver. The latter has denied saying that he didn't give a hoot. "I did give a hoot -- two or three hoots, in fact," he told police, "but the couple just kept on f*cking."

[Is the asterisk part of the Ukrainian alphabet? Ed.]

Disgusting book review

Yes, dear reader, there really is a National Rotten Sneaker Contest, held every year in Montpelier VT. This is one of the judges, Rachel Herz -- no relation to Dick. This is her website. Dr. Herz is the author of That's Disgusting (W.W. Norton & Co. Ltd., 2012).

The title of the good doctor's latest book -- an earlier opus is called The Scent of Desire -- caught my eye, so I picked it up to see if my name was spelled correctly. Then I noticed the subtitle: Unraveling the Mysteries of Repulsion.

That's right. The book is about stuff that makes us sick, literally. It's all about disgust, and how our sense of disgust permeates everything we do: what we eat, who we talk to, even who we sleep with.

To quote from the preface, That's Disgusting "explores what disgust is, [and] how, where and why it is elicited psychologically and neurologically, what its dark sides are, our perverse attraction to it, and its consequences for us as individuals and for our society."

But don't let the rather clinical-sounding abstract put you off. I'm finding the book hugely funny, and I've only just begun reading it. The first chapter is called "Let's Eat", and presents an unsavoury soupçon of truly yucky foods and beverages, most of them fermented, i.e. rotten. I've eaten a couple of the items she describes, such as injera. However, I've never ingested the Icelandic hakarl, which celebrity chef called "the single worst, most disgusting, and terrible tasting thing" he had ever eaten. Nor will I get anywhere near casu marzu, a Sardinian cheese about which the less said the better.

Other chapters deal with germs, disgusting people, horror shows, and (of course) "Lust and Disgust". That one explains why necrophilia has been alluded to (but not shown) more than once on Family Guy, and why the Japanese (and others) seem to enjoy the sight of young ladies exchanging bodily excretions.

Fittingly, "Lust and Disgust" is followed by chapters on "Law and Order" and "Disgust Lessons". There are copious notes and a few illustrations -- mercifully in black and white only. And there's a good index. I checked to see if Paris Hilton or Newt Gingrich were mentioned, but they weren't -- although William Miller was included.

Be sure to read That's Disgusting... but not too soon before or after eating.

What you're reading

Hi. Ed here. We're approaching the end of August, almost 26 months since Walt began this blog. The idea was to get people talking about some of the issues which don't get discussed much in the politically correct North American lamestream media. For instance: race, immigration and religion, on which Walt holds views contrary to the prevailing orthodoxy.

We hoped that at least a few people would read Walt's thoughts, react (comments are welcome even if not all get published), and pass the URL on to others, the point being to give thinking folks something to talk about other than celebrity train wrecks and our national preoccupation, S-E-X.

It's my job to have a look at the stats every now and then, to see how many hits we're getting, what posts draw the most interest, and where our readership is coming from. Here are three of the top 10 articles.

Help Kids Canada - a scam or only half a scam? has drawn more comments than any other piece. It still gets read, even though the first article in the series appeared back in April 2010. I can only think that it's because this scam (or half a scam) is still being run on the good-hearted and charitable Canucks.

London 2012 Olympics - Schedule of Events appeared only 11 days ago and has drawn scores of hits. I guess people are actually interested in next year's games and want to check out dates and venues. Imagine their disappointment when they find out it's a satire on the recent riots.

And now... Ed reveals the title of the most-read post. The leader -- by a country mile -- is Where next? Swaziland next? Can there really be that many people who are interested in the dark continent and the fate of the world's last absolute monarchy? This really baffled me until I remembered the picture I chose to illustrate the article.

OK. Now I understand. People -- men, I assume -- are searching Google Images and they can't resist clicking on this one. But I wonder...really...what search parameters they are typing into the dialogue box. Surely not "Swaziland".

In the final analysis, who cares. Check out whatever headline or picture turns your crank. Keep reading. Keep the comments coming. And remember that you can always e-mail Walt. Thank you for your attention!

Weird sex laws

A page of "the top twenty weird sex laws" is all over the Internet like a rash. Since I like things that go by tens, I've picked ten of the best...and a controversial No. 11...to brighten your dull day. Please note disclaimer after the last one.

1. In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband’s lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired.

2. In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.

3. In Alexandria VA, no man is allowed to make love to his wife with the smell of onions, garlic or sardines on his breath. It must have been a city council of henpecked husbands that enacted that one.

4. There are men in Guam whose full-time job it is to travel the countryside and deflower virgins, who pay them for the privilege. This is because according to the customary law of Guan it is forbidden for a virgin to marry.

5. In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman’s genitals, but is forbidden from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.

6. Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers; the sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or a piece of wood at all times.

7. It is illegal for any member of the Nevada state legislature to conduct official business costumed as a penis, but only (apparently) while the legislature is in session.

8. In Santa Cruz, Bolivia it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time.

9. In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens her mother must be in the room to witness the act.

10. In Sioux Falls SD, hotel rooms must only have twin beds. The beds must be a minimum of two feet apart IF a couple rents a room for only one night. And it is illegal to make love on the floor between the beds. No wonder the airport code for Sioux Falls is SUX! [That's Sioux CITY! Ed.]

And here's the bonus...
11. Most Middle Eastern countries recognize the following Islamic law: "After having sexual relations with a lamb, it is a mortal sin to eat its flesh."

I'm waiting for someone, perhaps Agent 17, to tell me there is no such Islamic law. Angry denials have already appeared on the Net. But since Agent 17 is not a Muslim, how would he know?!
