"Fired from my job at USAID"

Vocabulary.com defintes "bathetic" as something that's full of bathos -- overly sentimental, gushy, and worse yet — insincere. Soap operas, for example, are known for their bathetic emotionalism, because the characters cry and wail and scheme over the silliest things.

Another example was foisted on a gullibale public on Sunday night's episode of 60 Minutes. The subject of the propaganda exercise was the Trump administration's attempt to reduce wasteful and unnecessary federal spending by, among other things, shutting down USAID. The shrieks of horror from the loony lefties at 60 Minutes were a laughable attempt to turn public opinion against President Trump and DOGE because those poor bureaucrats at USAID lost their oh-so-vital jobs.

The star turn was an interview with Poor Kristina Drye and Poor Adam Dubard, who said they were being fired by USAID and had no idea where their next meal was going to come from. According to Breitbart News's John Nolte, Ms Drye and Mr Dubard are not USAID employees.

"Granted (he writes), 60 Minutes doesn't identify them as USAID employees, but there is no question the interview is rigged to make it sound as if they were. And nowhere in that clip or in the CBS News write-up are we told who they really are. Mr Drye was a USAID contractor who wrote speeches for Samantha Power, who was appointed to run USAID by the Biden administration.

"Same with Adam Dubard. He was a contractor, not a USAID employee. They both worked for a company that did partisan work funded by USAID, which was funded by taxpayers. Maybe they can now add 'crisis actors' to their resumes."

If you watched the piece -- I nearly broke my wrist changing channels -- you know, now, what bathos is. Our friends at The Patriot Post posted this little gem of satire.

Let all the Karens weeping for the fired USAID employees and other "victims" of the Orange Man think about this: President Trump has been in office for only four week. There's 204 weeks still to come.

Reposting a rant you're not going to like, by Brandon Morse

Ed. here. The last couple of months has been hard on Walt's blood pressure, and kindly ol' Doc Martin has suggested some time away from the USA might do him some good. He is therefore in partibus infidelibus until further notice, but we -- Poor Len Canayen and I -- won't let our faithful readers down.

Our National Sports Editor will wait until after tonight's NHL playoff game between the Penguins and the Habs to make sure he wasn't dreaming on Saturday night, so today we'll share with you excerpts from "Stop Being Nice: A Rant You're Not Going to Like", by Brandon Morse, in RedState, 31/7/20. By "you", Mr Morse means you conservatives and libertarians who aren't fighting back against the BLM/SJW/Antifa war on our society. Here are some choice chunks from his call to action.

I'm convinced that we've become a nation that has gotten so out of control in our adherence to social justice that it's even infected the people who are supposed to resist it, or worse, we've become too scared to rebel against it....

America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, isn’t living up to its reputation as either of those things. Social justice has infected everything and turned the United States into the shadow of its former self.

Despite all the fighting back we've done, the left is still managing to make their reality-rejecting ideological stances the standard in how the public conducts itself. It doesn't matter if its a complete denial of science or embracing failed political systems, the general public has become too afraid to look at the raging, temper tantrum throwing, hate-filled left and say "no."....

Social justice has taken over our society so much that we have a mass of people so brainwashed by leftist propaganda that they actually believe that socialism and communism are awesome. Socialists and communists [come] out of the woodwork to let me know that capitalism is actually the place where people starve and that Soviet Russian citizens actually ate better than Americans back in the day....

So convinced are the brainwashed left by their professors and peers, however, that their position is that my own eyes and ears are useless and that I should trust theirs. So consumed with social justice are they, that despite reality slapping down every position they have on the subject, they embrace it with their heart and soul to the point of violence....

These are the same idiots screaming "Black Lives Matter" in the streets as they burn down black-owned businesses, destroy their neighborhoods, and even kill them over television sets during riots. The same idiots who tell you that they're the good guys as they pummel you into a near-coma because you think pummeling people into a near-coma isn't the way we fix society.

...the end-goal of Black Lives Matter isn't equality and elevation of black lives but the fact that despite repeated actions from the BLM rioters and their leaders have proven me right time and again, the general public either still believes BLM cares or is too afraid to say otherwise. It's this cowardice that drives me nuts.

Our nation is collapsing around us, people have lost or are losing their jobs, businesses are failing, and the stress of it all is causing drug and alcohol abuse, as well as suicide rates to shoot up....

If all the truly responsible people went out and opened their businesses and conducted their lives like normal, the politicians and COVID-Karens could rant, scream, and rave all they want, lefty doctors could fear-monger till they were blue in the face and show us skyrocketing infection rates, but beyond these people, you wouldn't know a damn bit of difference between now and pre-COVID America....

I think a lot of this is happening because, frankly, we've become so passive and polite. Our enemies have interpreted our mild-mannered kindness as weakness and we’ve done nothing to prove otherwise....

I'm sick of this "nice guy" routine we’ve gotten ourselves into a rut with. It’s not doing us any good and we’re clearly being taken advantage of....

I'm promoting self-defense, which we have a right to. I guarantee that if rioters began seeing that the likelihood of being shot went up significantly, you'd see a lot of people a lot less gung-ho about being destructive and violent. The choice to loot and pillage becomes a lot more difficult to make when the consequences involve dying somewhere between the store and the hospital bed.

That means speaking truths that are uncomfortable and not doing things that our polite society has taught us to do. Stop qualifying your facts with reassurances that you’re not racist or sexist. Stop being afraid to make other people uncomfortable with your disagreements. ...stop entering every verbal combat situation by putting yourself on the back foot as a show of friendliness. They won't show you that mercy and will only take advantage of it.

We're not a nation of cowards so let's stop acting like it. The old saying that "all evil needs in order to succeed is for good men to do nothing" applies here. Our enemies deserve no quarter as we have received none ourselves.

Fight back.

That's about half of what Brandon Morse wrote. Click on the link in the introduction to read the whole thing. Any further comment from us, even an "Amen!", would be superfluous.

Taki reviews Dylan's "Murder Most Foul"

I confess... or, rather, boast... that I have never in my life listened to a "song" by Bob Dylan. Why should I? In his weekly summing up of "The Week That Perished", Taki says this about the allegedly iconic [most wrongly used word of 2019. Ed.] singer.

Dylan can't sing, can hardly strum a guitar, wheezes through a harmonica as if it's a ventilator, is as short as the average woman, is rumored to generate intense body odor, looks like a homeless person, and his music blows in the wind.

And yet... Bob Dylan, né Robert Zimmerman, remains a hero to lefties, Democrats and others who've drunk the KoolAid mixed up for us by the liberal elites, of whom he is the poet laureate. Below the meme you can read the rest of Taki's scathing review of Dylan's latest... make that only... Number 1 hit.

Robert Allen Zimmerman, born in northern Minnesota, remained Robert Zimmerman until he realized he could get away with pretending to be a non-ethnic hobo bard from the South if he rechristened himself as "Bob Dylan". As Southern humorist Roy Blount, Jr. once noted, Dylan is the type who will pronounce it "auty-mobile" and expect no one to notice that he’s faking it.

Dylan can’t sing, can hardly strum a guitar, wheezes through a harmonica as if it's a ventilator, is as short as the average woman, is rumored to generate intense body odor, looks like a homeless person, and his music blows in the wind.

Still, people in the 1960s looked up to him as a God -- even The Beatles deferred to Dylan -- which hints at how much was wrong with people in the 1960s.

He’s also the pretentious type who will give his songs inscrutable titles just to confuse people, which is why he titled a song that should have been called "Everybody Must Get Stoned" as "Rainy Day Women #12 and #35" instead. He’s that insufferable.

Despite selling 100 million albums to people who were somehow able to find wisdom in his off-key warblings, Dylan had never lodged a #1 hit in the USA. He hit #2 twice, with "Like a Rolling Stone" in 1965 and the aforementioned "Everybody Must Get Stoned" in 1966.

Now, at a point when he is roughly Methusaleh's age and when 20-year-olds don't even know who JFK or Bob Dylan was, Mr. Zimmerman has proved that people in the 2020s may be worse than those in the 1960s because he’s finally scored a #1 hit -- with an unlistenable ballad about JFK’s assassination that has more meaningless pop-culture references than an average episode of The Simpsons. Oh -- and the thing is 17 minutes long.

It is called "Murder Most Foul", and the atonal abomination recently hit #1 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart. Without so much as an apology, it includes the following lyrics:

Goodbye, Charlie
Goodbye, Uncle Sam
Frankly, my Scarlet, I don’t give a damn….
They mutilated his body, and they took out his brain
What more could they do?
They piled on the pain
But his soul’s not there where it was supposed to be at
For the last fifty years they’ve been searchin’ for that….
That magic bullet of yours has gone to my head
I’m just a patsy like Patsy Cline….
Play “Mystery Train” for Mr. Mystery
The man who fell down dead like a rootless tree
Play it for the Reverend
Play it for the Pastor
Play it for the dog that got no master

Why, it's almost as if Lee Harvey Oswald shot the wrong guy!

Note from Ed.: Yes, I noticed what appears to be a typo in the meme, but I only edit Walt's stuff!

We haven't had a Gavin McInnes video on WWW since last year, so here's a new one you probably haven't seen yet. This is Gavin's alter-ego (not to be confused with Alt-right) Miles McInnes, the ultimate leftie pinko SJW progressive thinker. This is his list of the top 10 leftie/snowflake/etc moments of 2016. Enjoy.

Post-script to all the lefties/snowflakes/etc who watched this by some horrible mistake. If you don't like being mocked, just wait. We NON-leftie/snowflake/etc types won! Wait till you see what happens now!

5 lessons learned -- maybe -- by the Occupiers

Walt didn't have much to say about the OWS gangs which infested parks and similar spaces in many cities of North America and elsewhere. Really, for those of us who remember the hippy-dippy 60s, Haight-Asbury and all that, there wasn't much to say. Been there. Done that. Got the herpes.

Some commentators, however, have waxed thoughtful, among them Eric Duhaime of QMI. In "Life lessons learned by Occupiers", he points out that, if they were paying attention, the LIANE (Loonies Indignant About Nearly Everything) could have learned Five Stone Truths that the rest of us already know.

- The first lesson came out of an incident that occurred at the beginning of the occupancy of Victoria Square in downtown Montreal. Late one night, a protester came back to his tent to discover that two homeless drunks had taken possession of it. When he gently invited them to leave, he got hit in the face. That’s when he understood the idea of private property. Lesson No. 1: Down with public property.

- During the protest, organizers of Occupy Montréal collected donations from the public, and kept $10,000 in a tent. One morning, the money had disappeared. Those who were rebelling against great financial thieves learned there was at least one thief among them. They ran to the closest bank to open an account. Lesson No. 2: Banks fulfill an essential function.

- Almost two weeks ago, mass fights erupted in the camp, with some even receiving death threats. Those in charge of the camp had to ask the police to chase the most violent away. Lesson No. 3: Law and order help when you’re being pushed around by criminals.

- As meal times came and went, organizers realized that some who came to eat at the “people’s kitchen” were not protesters but freeloaders, so they refused to feed those who did not give them a hand. Lesson No. 4: You need to work before you eat.

- When the temperature at night dropped below the freezing point, the elite of the camp left the plebs alone and went to sleep in their warm and comfy homes. Lesson No. 5: The leaders of the left — from the former USSR to the Occupy NoMatterWhere — never practise what they preach

OWS wannabes to try Christmas carols instead

Talk about coming late to the party! A handful of Ontario LIANE (Lefties Indignant About Nearly Everything) have organized themselves -- sort of -- into a group they call "Occupy Niagara".

A couple of days ago they held a meeting in a phone booth in Saint Catharines, to discuss the possibility of occupying a local park. This coincided with the removal from St. James Park in Toronto of that city's LIANE plus assorted panhandlers, street people and scum.

When it was pointed out that camping out in city parks was kind of passé -- not to mention illegal -- the would-be occupiers decided to look for other ways to protest. That could include marches say they might shun tents in favour of carolling.

The group has a Facebook page -- of course -- which suggests they might try flash mobs. Or a nice sing-along, presumably including "Kumbaya". Or maybe singing
"Occupy-themed Christmas carols".

Walt is not making this up, merely passing on the QMI agency report. [That's because we don't do Facebook. Ed.] But think. If they go carolling -- they already have the waif costumes -- what, exactly, will they be protesting? Political correctness? Then I'm all for it!

Let's all sing! Not "holiday songs" like "Winter Wonderland" but real honest-to-Christ carols like "Adeste Fideles". We really should wait until December 25th for those, but it's not to early for the Christmas is about Christ message.

An "Occupier" explains what they really want

The LIANE (Lefties Indignant About Nearly Everything) are still at it, making nuisances of themselves in cities all over North America and western Europe. Don't see much of this nonsense in Beijing or Moscow, though. Many normal people -- the kind who get up and go to work, do the yardwork on Saturday and go to church on Sunday -- are scratching their heads in puzzlement, wondering just what it is that the "Occupiers" are against, or for. At last we have the answer, straight from the mouth of one of their number in Atlanta.

So there you have it. They're "protesting against equality and change"...you know.

Thanks to Agent 17 for sending this along. [That's two good ones in one week! Ed.] He says that if the speaker is a product of Georgia education, he, as a taxpayer, would demand his money back!
