During the rally, the Democratic National Committee projected their latest Big Lie -- "Trump praised Hitler" -- on the side of the building. This lie was started by General (Retd) Johm Kelly, who was President Trump's chief-of-staff until he got fired. Mr Kelly told the Atlantic (of course) that Mr Trump had admirable things to say about the German dictator. Mr Trump says he never said any such thing, and campaign aides have denied Kelly's accounts.
These repeated attempts to demonize President Trump as a "Nazi" and a "fascist" show the depths of desperation to which the Dimocrats have sunk. As for the 1939 rally (which even I am not old enough to remember), yes, it was in Madison Square Garden, and yes, it drew an overflow crowd. All similarities end there. Here, courtesy of The Telegraph, are the highlights from the MAGA-event.
Said Donald Trump Jr, "The fact that we can pack Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City shows me that the spirit of the American people is there."
To call the rally a success would be a major understatement. Walt cannot predict that President Trump will win New York City, let alone the state, but the event shows that New Yorkers, famous for their predilection to back front-runners, know which way the wind is blowing.
