UPDATED: Your Singhs today - "Brampton man" nabbed at border

Do any of our readers watch Border Security? Regular viewers will know that a lot of the action takes place at the land borders between the Paranoid States of America and the Great No-longer-white North, specifically at the Peace Bridge to Buffalo NY, the Peace Arch near Blaine WA, and the Blue Water Bridge to Port Huron MI.

At those border crossings, US Customs and Border Protection officers are constantly on the lookout for unemployed frostbacks coming into the USA for work, and big rigs full of drugs. It's the latter that prompted President Trump to impose tough tariffs on Canada, to motivate the feckless Liberal government to do something to put a stop to it.

Who's driving all those drug-laden transports back and forth across the border? Very often it's "men from Brampton", the suburb of Toronto where Sikhs make up the majority of the population, thanks to the Liberals' wish to ensure the never-ending election of turban-winders.

Many of the many Sikhs driving erratically along the highways of Ontario, Michigan and New York are "temporary foreign students" at the notorious Singh School of Truck Driving, such as Karamveer Singh, not pictured at right.

On June 12th, the hapless Mr Singh got caught by the CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency -- the counterpart of the CBP), which has been exerting itself lately to show President Trump that Canada will do its part to stem the flow of mind-altering substances across the border.

He was attempting to drive a commerical truck across the Blue Water Bridge through the point of entry at Point Edward ON, across the water from Port Huron MI. During the inspection of the trailer, border services officers, with the assistance of Detective Mcgruff, the drug-sniffing dog, discovered the items pictured below.

That's 161 bricks of "suspected" cocaine -- it's still being tested by the officers -- contained in 6 boxes. The total weight of the "suspected" narcotics was 411 lbs, with an estimated street value of C$23.3 million (about $169 million in real money).

The CBSA arrested Karamveer Singh, 27, of Brampton ON, and transferred him and the "suspected" narcotics to the custody of the Mounties. Mr Singh has been charged with Importation of Cocaine, and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Nothing has been said about how he got into Canada. The investigation is ongoing, but don't bother staying tuned.

Footnote added at 1212: Peel Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down several suspects after a man was shot dead at his Brampton workplace last week. He has since been identified as Sharnpreet Singh. The workplace is believed to be other than the Singh School of Truck Driving. Source: Global TV News, 25/6/25.

VIDEO: "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran!"

Walt feels the need to post something more about the Israeli (read: American) attack on Iran than the little cartoon which appeared here this morning. We can poke fun at the Ayatollahs and mad mullahs all we like, but to say that we have to get them before they get us... that's just wrong! In his latest Remnant Underground video, Michael Matt tells us why supporting "Christian Zionism" is a big mistake, and what we must do to save our country.

But first, this overture. Those of you who grew up with the music of the Golden Age of Rock, the kind featured in American Graffiti, will have noted with sadness the passing of Brian Wilson, the musical genius behind The Beach Boys, who died a few days ago at the age of 82. RIP. This is one of my favourite Beach Boys hits.

What, you may wonder, is the connection with the attack on Iran. Read our headline again, quickly, or better yet, sing it... the way the Beach Boys did! No wonder Mr Matt uses it to preface his thoughts on the mistake of joining the endless Middle Eastern war.

Dear Christian friends -- Catholic and otherwise -- Mr Matt has shown the flaws in the argument for joining in the Jewish war on Iran. It's not that Mr Matt or we here at WWW are anti-Semitic. It's simply that this war goes against everything we, as Christians, profess to believe. Now you know.

Footnote: This video is an edited version of AMERICA FIRST?? TRUMP BOMBS IRAN_ MAGA Divided, Neocons Delighted, Israel Wins, published on Remnant TV on 22 June 2025. Mr Matt's report on the latest Chartres pilgrimage and the great Catholic Revival now shaking Europe have been omitted. Click here to see the full-length (44:15) video.

Memes for a hot and sticky Monday

Walt: Faith but it's hot out there!
Ed.: How hot is it?!
Walt: What do you think this is, the Johnny Carson show? I'm too hot to come up with a snappy answer.
Ed.: What about yon blog, then?
Walt: Put up a couple of memes...

Walt: That's a good wan. Have ye any more?

Ed.: Any questions or complaints should be directed to the folks at Charlie Hebdo, where this first appeared.
Walt: Sure, I don't unnerstand it meself.

"King or chaos!"???

Let's talk some more about the latest loony left mantra "No kings!"

In "We are nearing the end of a natural political cycle" (WWW 16/6/25), I quoted from C. Northcote Parkinson's highly recommendable Left Luggage (Houghton Mifflin, 1967).

The author of The Law argues very persuasively that there is a natural political order of things. A nation goes from chaos -- warring tribes from which a unified nation emerges -- to monarchy, for it is the monarch, the king, who creates the nation.

Then, as the size of the aristocracy grows, the numbers of the ruled increase as well. That's simple biology. Kings and commoners all have children! As the numbers swell, the distinction between the rulers and ruled tends to get blurred, and the lower classes eventually get to share in the power. This phase we call democracy.

Focus shifts from the individual -- whether he be king or capitalist -- to the community, who expect to share not only power but wealth. The nation moves toward the theoretical equality (or mediocrity) we call socialism. Community, the common weal, the commune. Out of that philosophy comes dictatorship, Marx's "dictatorship of the proletariat".

Then what happens? Dictatorship leads to chaos, as it did in the Soviet Union and sub-Saharan Africa. For order to be restored, out of the chaos must arise... wait for it... a new king! And so the cycle repeats itself.

We close (for today) with another quote from Left Luggage, at pp. 190-191:
Political progress must remain a myth. It is true that a democratic society can be made more egalitarian, but this hastening of the process merely shortens the life of the democracy, making dictatorship the more imminent.

The theory that freedom broadens down from precedent to precedent has no basis in historical example. The pursuit of democracy does not end in perfection, but in that choas from which dictatorship offers the only means of escape. No form of government can last forever, and democracy does not even, in practice, last for long.

Footnote: About that headline... "King or chaos!" was the 1935 campaign slogan of William Lyon Mackenzie King, the longest-serving prime minister of Canada. The electorate chose Mr King, and he remained PM until finally retiring in 1948.

The democratically elected governments that followed his have become progressively more "progressive" (read: socialist) to the point where, under Emperors Trudeau, père et fils, Canada has descended into such chaos that it is now known as Canuckistan. A king is wanted!
