Hatchett man axes for a break on child support

The winner of the Knox County (TN) Stork Derby for the first decade (or so) of the 21st century is... drum roll... envelope please... Desmond Hatchett, age 33, of Knoxville. Since 1997 Dirty Des has fathered no fewer than 30 pickaninnies with 11 different baby mamas! What a feat! [It ain't his feat wut done it! Ed.]

How, you may ask, was Mr. Hatchett able to set what Melissa Gibson, an assistant supervisor with the Knox County child support clerk's office, thinks is the county record for most children. It's quite amazing, especially considering that he'd managed to beget only 21 sprogs up until 2009, when he told WREG-TV in Memphis he was done procreatin'.

Walt will do the math for you. Yes, Des has become a father nine times in the past three years! In a subsequent interview, Hatchett explained, "I had four kids in the same year. Twice."

So who's paying to look after all these kids? Walt knows what you're thinking, but Ms Gibson couldn't or wouldn't say whether their mothers are receiving "social assistance". (That's what we call "welfare" nowadays.) Anyway, it sure isn't Hatchett, because state law requires that no more than 50% of his wages can be withheld for support payments. And that's when he's working, which is, errr, not all the time. That's why he was in court last week, asking for a break on those payments.

Again, Walt will do the math for you. The minimum wage in TN is $7.25 per hour, which would come to... errr... $290 per week. OK, let's say $1250 per month, of which 50% would be $625, divided by 30 comes to just under $21 per little bastard per month. Not really enough, is it.

Is there a lesson in all this? If so, it would seem Des and 11 different women have yet to learn it. As a traditional Catholic, Walt can hardly advocate forced sterilization, but -- leaving religious principles aside -- there are times when something like China's One Child Policy makes a good deal of common sense. No kidding!

Walt explains the connection between Communism, Islam and Fatima

Where's Walt? A little over four years ago, the answer was: somewhere in that crowd of pilgrims in front of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, at Fátima, Portugal. It was there that the Mother of God appeared to three shepherd children, Blesseds Jacinta and Francisco Marto and their cousin, Lúcia Santos, known as "Sister Lucy" after she became a nun.

For those (including, sadly, the majority of Catholics) who don't know what happened at Fátima, a brief explanation, then a thought which occurred to me as I read Mark Steyn's controversial book America Alone. The Mother of God appeared at Fátima in 1917 to warn us that we are in the last times predicted in the Apocalypse of St. John the Divine. (To non-Catholic Christians, that's the New Testament Book of Revelation.)

The apparitions -- the most famous of the 20th century -- gained particular fame due to their elements of prophecy and eschatology, particularly with regard to possible world war and the conversion of Soviet Russia. They were officially declared "worthy of belief" by the Catholic Church.

As I read America Alone, I was struck by the significance of the fact that Our Lady chose to appear at Fátima, a dusty little village in the middle of Portugal. Why there? There were thousands, millions of places in the world where She could have found poor shepherd children to show Herself to. Or why not Rome? Or Jerusalem? Why Fátima?

When I first heard the name "Fátima", I associated it with Islam. And indeed, Fátima was named after Fatimah,‎ a daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad from his first wife Khadijah bint Khuwaylid. Wikipedia tells us that after Khadijah, Muslims regard Fatimah as the most significant historical figure, considered to be the leader of all women in this world and in Paradise. She occupies an analogous position in Islam to that the Blessed Virgin Mary occupies in Christianity.

Now here's the connection. Throughout America Alone, Mark Steyn argues that the real enemy of the West is Islam. One of the goals of the Islamists is to reconquer and reestablish the Caliphate, the Muslim empire (shown above) which, in the 7th and 8th centuries AD, stretched from the Middle East all the way to the Iberian peninsula. Fatima is in the northwest corner of of this vast tract of land.

How will the Muslims reassert their dominance over Spain and Portugal, and spread their empire through all of Europe and beyond? Not by force of arms. According to Steyn, terrorism is the weapon of a weak enemy. If America (led by Hussein Obama) really wanted to, it could cut out the heart of Islam just ilke that.

But the Islamists don't have to conquer us by the sword. Steyn says, and Walt agrees, that the Muslims will defeat and occupy the West by force of demographics. They are breeding like rabbits -- little veiled and turbanned rabbits -- while we are killing our children before they are born, by birth control and abortion. The fact is, the formerly Christian peoples are not reproducing fast enough to maintain their populations. Our populations are actually shrinking, whereas those of the Islamic states are expanding -- expanding into the empty spaces in the cities, towns and villages of our countries.

Where did we Christians get the idea that "zero population growth" is a Good Thing, a goal to be embraced by all enlightened and progressive thinkers? From the Communists! Our Lady of Fatima warned us that if the "errors of Russia" were not resisted, and that poor nation converted, those errors would spread throughout the world, billions of souls would be lost and entire nations annihilated.

And that is exactly what's happening. Chief among the errors of Russia (i.e. the errors of Communism) is "family planning" and the notion of sex for its own sake, rather than for God's purpose of procreation. Although Communism has supposedly been defeated, in Russia and the former Communist states, 70% of pregnancies are "terminated". Communist China persists in its "one child policy", under which millions of babies are killed every year, not just before birth but after!

So that's how Communism, Islam and Fatima interconnect. The errors of Communism are causing the suicide of the West. And who benefits? The Muslims. Europe -- including Britain -- is already well down to the road to becoming what Steyn calls "Eurabia". Canada, which is closer to Europe than America in its social attitudes and policies, will be next. And then America.

The only thing that can save us -- save the West from being occupied and dominated by the Muslim hordes -- is a return, a conversion to the True Faith, the Faith of our Christian fathers.

How China's one child policy works

This is further to "Abortion on decree -- the reality", to answer a reader who wanted to take the suggestion that Communist China forces women to have abortions with a large grain of salt. Here's a brief account of how the one child policy is enforced, not in the backward rural areas of China but in her most modern city.

Agent 78 is a teacher in a middle school in a very large city on China's south coast. But Agent 78 is not a classroom teacher. Rather, as a good Communist, she is a teacher administrator, whose responsibilities include keeping tabs on the other teachers to make sure they are obeying government (therefore Party) policies.

Every month, Agent 78 checks with all the female staff to find out who's pregnant, what kind of birth control they're using and so on. She keeps records of who has children, who doesn't, and who's planning to. The object is not to exceed the limit set by the state for the school district.

So what happens if somebody's pregnancy is going to push that school or that district over the limit? The unfortunate woman is reminded that there is a cash bonus for everybody if no more than a certain number of babies are born during the year. The miscreant is told that if she gives birth, not only will she suffer (by having to pay a large fine), but the whole work unit will suffer too.

Then the mother-to-be is told that it's up to her to "do the right thing"...meaning do the wrong thing and kill the baby. Don't quibble with me about whether a fetus is a baby. "Kill the baby" are Agent 78's words, not mine.

No, the poor woman is not dragged kicking and screaming into the abortuary, as described in my previous post. But the result is the same. The offending baby disappears. That's how the one child policy is enforced.

Footnote: Agent 78's brief extends to the parents of all the children who attend her school. She is not able to threaten those who want to have a second child with loss of a year-end bonus. But she reminds would-be parents that a second child goes at the bottom of the list for admission to the prestigious school. "We educate one child per family. Period." That's the policy, too.

Abortion on decree -- the reality

We don't hear much about Zero Population Growth these days. That's because Malthus' gloomy predictions of mass starvation due to overpopulation were wrong. And birth rates have fallen dramatically in the "civilized" first world because of the widespread availability of cheap and reliable birth control. People in Europe and North America are choosing not to have as many children.

But what about the rest of the world? Besides promoting "planned parenthood", some countries have taken more drastic measures to reduce the number of births. India has used forced sterilization. And China persists in its notorious and widely reviled "one child policy". Forced sterilization is part of that. So is forced abortion -- "retroactive birth control" by order of the godless communist state.

What follows is a dialogue* between Tim Ward, an American traveller and writer, and a Shanghai medical student whose name is only given as "Zhou".

"At least the one-child-per-family policy is one thing that really works," [I said].

"You say so?" Zhou shot me a hard glance. "You know the main method of Chinese birth control?... Abortion is the number-one method in China. As a student-doctor, I am required to perform ten abortions every day. We have no choice."

He looked down at his stubby fingers. "The first time I was frightened. When they brought in the woman, I jumped back."

"Jumped back? Why?"

"Because of the screaming. They had to drag her in, kicking and twisting, and tie her down. Now it's not so bad. You get used to it, when you do it ten times every day."

"My God, Zhou -- you mean some women are foced to have abortions? That's inhuman!"

"Some? About ninety-five percent! They are treated like animals. It is our policy. Many women hide their pregnancies. But eventually they are discovered. They have broken the law, not reporting it, and so they are treated like criminals.

"But it's worse for unmarried women. These women are especially afraid of being caught because they have already broken the law by having sex. For them, the government has a special torture. We are forbidden to waste anesthetic on them. 'Teach them a lesson,' the state orders us. 'Then next time they will learn to push the man away.' Tell me, do you think this is an admirable policy?"

"Do many women come back?" I asked numbly. My stomach had gone cold.

"Yes, I see many unmarried women back a second or third time, screaming and howling.... This is what it is to be a doctor in China."

Some readers may recall a rather large fuss being made about seven months ago, at a "women's health summit" held in Washington, by the progressive and correct-thinking Hellery Clinton. She was upset with Canada's Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, for suggesting cutting funding for aid groups that include abortion in their "services" to women.

Here's the reality. If a government or a state-sponsored organization or an NGO (like Planned Parenthood) is made aware that the amount of money it will get from well-meaning donors (including western governments) depends on reducing the number of births, they would be more than stupid to not "encourage" women to have their tubes tied or undergo abortions. For the good of society, of course. Just like China.

Chinese Communists still forcing late-term abortions

A report by an Al Jazeera journalist, Melissa Chan, documenting a late-term forced abortion was been posted recently on Digital Journal.

Xiao Ai Ying and her husband Luo Yan Qua ran afoul of China's barbaric and abhorrent One Child Policy. Since they already had one child, the 8-months-pregnant mother was dragged -- kicking and screaming -- out of her own home by family planning authorities who were accompanied by police officers.

The husband and father also says that police kicked his wife in the stomach, possibly to induce a miscarriage. Next, they took her to a hospital in the city of Xiamen -- not a rural backwater but one of China's most modern cities -- where her soon-to-be-born child was killed by a lethal injection while still in her body.

“There were many men surrounding my wife,” said Xiao’s husband. “They held her arms behind her back, pushed her head against the door, kicked her stomach and I don’t know if they were trying to give her a miscarriage, right there and then.” Chinese police then confined Xiao to the hospital where the forced abortion took place.

Forced abortion is just one of the evils of Communism of which Our Lady of Fatima warned us. The Mother of God told us that the only way to stop such horrors was for the Pope, in union with all the world's bishops, to solemnly and publicly consecrate Russia, by name, to Her Immaculate Heart. If this is not done, She warned, billions of souls will be lost. Xiao's baby is just one of those poor souls.
