There's a great compilation of liberal politicians and their lickspittle media telling us we have to get vaccinated to save the world, then saying "errr, maybe not." To top that, you'll hear Cardinal Timothy "the Laughing Cow" Dolan, admit that he and almost all our other leaders were wrong to "follow the science." Yes, and he praises Christopher Columbus too. 

And there's still more. Mr Matt explains that just because he quotes Bill Marr and Donald Trump doesn't mean that he's stupid and believes they're daily communicants! [For non-Catholics, that means devout Catholics who receive Holy Communion every day. Like President Brandon... NOT! Ed.] It means only that we believe they're on our side in the political wars. We should amplify the voices of reason ... which is what WWW is trying to do, right now.

VIDEO: Patrick Coffin names and shames those who put the kibosh on beatification of Ven. Fulton Sheen

As if the sad news of the "postponement" of the beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, which was scheduled for Peoria on December 21st, wasn't bad enough, comes now an announcement that the beatification has been postponed "indefinitely". Which is Catholic Churchspeak for "not going to happen." In this short(ish) video, Patrick Coffin names those responsible for throwing a spanner in the works, and explains why there's a silver lining to the liberal cloud.



Mr Coffin asserts (and Walt concurs) that Fulton J. Sheen is clean. He says the screeching halt to his Cause was orchestrated by Bishop Salvatore Matano of Rochester, abetted by liberal modernist Cardinals Cupich of Chicago and Dolan of New York. Walt predicted that the name of Cardinal Cupich would be mentioned at some point. Lifetime pct .979.

Mr Coffin asks if the silence of Cardinal Dolan, in particular, has anything to do with the fact that he lost four different legal appeals trying to keep Archbishop Sheen's earthly remains in Saint Patrick's Cathedral, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars to the faithful of New York.
And, he asks, will no US bishops stand up in defence of their brother bishop and sainthood candidate?

In the end, though, traditional Catholics should be glad the Cause was halted. In in this video, Mr Coffin explains why. He concludes thus: Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, ora pro nobis.

Cardinal Dolan calls faithful Catholics the "new minority"!

Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has finally figured out that it's the Catholics who are true to the Faith of our fathers who are being ignored by Church, in her headlong rush to embrace modernism and minority groups and "those who may feel excluded" such as "the single, those with same-sex attraction, those divorced, widowed, or recently arrived in a new country, those with disabilities, the aged, the housebound, racial and ethnic minorities."

Writing in his blog on October 12th, His Eminence points to the danger of overlooking faithful Catholic families, the kind of people  he calls a "new minority", even in the Church.

...there is now a new minority in the world and even in the Church. I am thinking of those who, relying on God’s grace and mercy, strive for virtue and fidelity:
- couples who -- given the fact that, at least in North America, only half of our people even enter the sacrament of matrimony -- approach the Church for the sacrament;
- couples who, inspired by the Church’s teaching that marriage is forever, have persevered through trials;
- couples who welcome God’s gifts of many babies;
- a young man and woman who have chosen not to live together until marriage;
- a gay man or woman who wants to be chaste;
- a couple who has decided that the wife would sacrifice a promising professional career to stay at home and raise their children.
These wonderful people today often feel themselves a minority, certainly in culture, but even, at times in the Church! I believe there are many more of them than we think, but, given today’s pressure, they often feel excluded.

Walt congratulates Cardinal Dolan on finally getting it, or at least some of it. The problems of the mainstream Roman Catholic Church stem in large part from trying to adapt the Truths that Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Fathers of the Church taught us to the trendy lies relentlessly repeated by (as the prelate says) the media and the liberal "cafeteria Catholics" who follow the teachings they like but disregard the ones they don't.

Who is to blame for the loss of Faith and the loss of millions upon millions of believing Catholics who feel they have no place in today's Church? Step forward the modernists in the Church hierarchy, up to and including a couple of "sainted" popes who have led us astray for the last half-century. That would include, errr, Cardinal Dolan.

13 Cardinals write Pope to denounce manipulation of Synod

From Rome we hear shocking reports of strong pushback by conservative Roman Catholic bishops against the plot of Cardinals Baldisseri and Kasper and other "progressives" to change traditional teachings of the Church on matters of divorce and homosexuality.

Vatican insider Sandro Magister, an eminently reliable source, reported Monday in Chiesa that 13 leading Cardinals wrote to Pope Francis on October 5th to express the "serious concerns" of themselves and other bishops over the procedures of the Synod on the Family. In their judgment, the rules and documents of the conclave are "designed to facilitate predetermined results on important disputed questions". They also view "Instrumentum laboris" (working document) as inadequate as a "guiding text or the foundation of a final document."

In layman's language, as Walt revealed on October 2nd, the fix is in!

Sig. Magister named 10 of the 13 Cardinals who signed the letter as:
- Carlo Caffarra, Archbishop of Bologna, Italy, theologian, formerly the first president of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family;
- Thomas C. Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, Canada;
- Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York, United States;
- Willem J. Eijk, Archbishop of Utrecht, Holland;
- Gerhard L. Müller, former bishop of Regensburg, Germany, since 2012 Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith;
- Wilfrid Fox Napier, Archbishop of Durban, South Africa, President Delegate of the Synod (a position he also held at last year's session);
- George Pell, Archbishop Emeritus of Sydney, Australia, since 2014 Prefect in the Vatican of the Secretariat for the Economy;
- Robert Sarah, former Archbishop of Conakry, Guinea, since 2014 Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline;
- Jorge L. Urosa Savino, Archbishop of Caracas, Venezuela;
- Angelo Scola, Archbishop of Milan, Italy.

Yesterday, Father Federico Lombardi, the sock puppet in charge of the Vatican press office, called the leaking of the Cardinals' letter a "disruption". Because the authors of the letter intended it to remain confidential, he said, "It would be inappropriate to allow it to have any influence."

In layman's language, "Don't listen to those guys with the red hats. Just listen to the Pope, who speaks through me!"

Father Lombardi then muddied the water more than somewhat, by claiming that Cardinal Pell, who has acknowledged writing to the Pope, has said that neither the text published in Chiesa nor the list of signatories was accurate. He also said that Cardinals Erdo and Scola, named by Sig. Magister, and Cardinals Piacenza and Vingt-Trois, not identified by Sig. Magister, had denied having signed.

Meanwhile, the Jesuit periodical America reported in "Thirteen Cardinals, Including Di Nardo and Dolan, Challenged Pope’s Decisions on Synod" that the correct list of 13 cardinals includes Cardinals Caffarra, Collins, Dolan, Eijk, Müller, Napier, Pell, Sarah, and Savino -- named by Sig. Magister -- and four not on his list: Daniel Di Nardo (Archbishop of Galveston-Houston), John Njue (Archbishop of Nairobi, Kenya), Elio Sgreccia (President Emeritus of the Pontifical Academy for Life), and Norberto Rivera Carrera (Archbishop of Mexico City).

Another Vatican spokesthingy, Father Thomas Rosica, posted a link to the America article on his Twitter account, thus lending credence to the new report.

And now... this very morning, Rome time... Sig. Magister has published a follow-up to his original account, headed "The Letter of the Thirteen Cardinals to the Pope. Episode Two". He confirms the names of the signatories, and stakes his reputation on the authenticity of the text, apart perhaps from a few marginal inaccuracies and questions of form. Above all, he says, the letter is important for underlining what is at stake: control of the procedures of the Synod, and thus its outcome.

"The substance," he writes, "remains that which the statement of Cardinal Pell and even more so the interview with Cardinal Napier have confirmed: a widespread and growing unease among many synod fathers over the insistence in imposing upon them as the basis of discussion a document, the 'Instrumentum laboris', which every day shows itself more and more to be inadequate, and the fear that this with its ambiguities will contaminate the 'Relatio finalis', the writing of which is in the hands of a commission entirely appointed from on high, with an overwhelming presence of innovators."

Catholic bishops call for prayer and penance to fight Planned Parenthood's barbaric organ harvesting

Even those who support a woman's "right" to kill her baby have been shocked, perhaps even dismayed, by the undercover videos posted by the Center for Medical Progress which prove that Planned Parenthood is generating revenue -- a lot of revenue -- by selling body parts from aborted children. Sometimes they'll even sell you a whole cadaver -- the result of a late-term abortion or even the killing of a baby born alive. Even the liberal secular humanists who dominate America's media and politics were somewhat embarrassed by the crass barbarism of PP's traffic in dead humans. In one video, Melissa Farrell, the research director at Gulf Coast (Texas) Planned Parenthood, tells undercover reporters that her branch of the organization helps with the "diversification of the revenue stream." Directly contradicting the claim that Planned Parenthood only recoups its costs by the sale of fetal tissues, she says: "I think everyone realizes, especially because my department contributes so much to the bottom line of our organization..."

In discussing the prices that Planned Parenthood could command for fetal organs, Ms Farrell explains that administrative costs can be calculated along with "anything that we piggyback onto that for collection purposes." She also speaks about altering abortion procedures in order to maximize the chance that organs will remain intact; she says that "we deviate from our standard [crushing the child, particularly its head] in order to do that."

Some US senators found the courage to bring forward a bill which would have stripped Planned Parenthood of its $500 million in federal funding. But the "pro choice" (= pro baby-killing) lobby in Washington is strong, and the bill fell 7 votes short of the 60 votes needed to advance. The vote split along party lines, with only Senator Kirk (R - IL) voting with the Democrats, who undoubtedly didn't want to put the Prez or his putative successor (Hellery Clinton) in the embarrassing position of seeing their pro-abortion policies rejected.

Since the Democrats have stymied any action by the Senate, the only way for those who oppose the "harvesting" of the organs of the dead to fight this barbaric and immoral practice is to invoke the help of Almighty God. The Roman Catholic bishops of Colorado have asked the faithful to observe a day of penance and prayer on August 28th for recognition of the sacredness of life.

In a statement on July 31st, the bishops said, "We call on all people of good will in Colorado and beyond to pray that those involved in research and medicine will fix their sights on recognizing the sacredness of life and refrain from putting human life at the service of science. A society can only be considered socially just if it protects the most vulnerable among us."

On Wednesday, in "Another Boy, Another Question", Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, wrote that "for once we can actually take Planned Parenthood at their word, because in these videos they don’t use euphemisms, but instead they openly acknowledge the humanity of the babies they have aborted and are now dissecting. This makes perfect sense. The whole point was that the child was really a human person, and their organs and other tissue could be sold for experiments.

"In other words, the folks at Planned Parenthood finally told the truth about what they are actually doing when they abort over 300,000 babies each year –- that’s more than 20% of all abortions in this country: they are putting an end to an innocent, fragile, defenseless, human life.

"The importance of this is made particularly stark in a horrifying moment in one of the videos. A technician is exchanging small talk with the interviewer, all the while as she coldly describes her handling of the various organs of one of the aborted babies. She is then heard to exclaim, 'Another boy!'

"The pathos of that scene is almost beyond human comprehension. But the acknowledgement of the truth is a pivotal moment. Nobody can hide from it any longer. It comes right out of their own mouths. It’s not a thing. It’s not just some tissue. 'It’s a boy!' It’s a human, baby, boy."

And, in an op-ed published by the Chicago Tribune, Archbishop Blase Cupich of Chicago said that "the widespread revulsion over the tapes arose because they unmasked the fact that, in our public conversation about abortion, we have so muted the humanity of the unborn child that some consider it quite acceptable to speak freely of crushing a child's skull to preserve valuable body parts and to have that discussion over lunch.

"This newest evidence about the disregard for the value of human life also offers the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment as a nation to a consistent ethic of life," he added. "While commerce in the remains of defenseless children is particularly repulsive, we should be no less appalled by the indifference toward the thousands of people who die daily for lack of decent medical care; who are denied rights by a broken immigration system and by racism; who suffer in hunger, joblessness and want; who pay the price of violence in gun-saturated neighborhoods; or who are executed by the state in the name of justice."

Even a liberal Cardinal calls pro-LGBT Synod report "worthless"

Something got lost in the translation! Believe it or not, that, according to the Catholic News Agency's Vatican observer, Andrea Gagliarducci, is the Vatican's excuse for how the controversial Interim Report of the Synod on the Family came to be "misunderstood".

The document was written in Italian, which Pope Francis directed to be used as the official language of the synod. He did this because, as New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan admitted not long ago, few of the prelates can read or understand Latin any more. That the language of the Church has at last become "dead" is yet another of the poisoned fruits of Vatican II. Too bad, because Latin has always been esteemed by lawyers and theologians for its precision and lack of ambiguity.

The hoo-hah about the Church's sudden admiration for the LGBT community, as reported here on Tuesday, arises (they tell us now) from a mistranslation of paragraph 50 of the relatio [report]. The Italian original, after praising the "gifts and talents" homosexuals may [my emphasis] give to the Christian community, asked: "le nostre comunità sono in grado di esserlo accettando e valutando il loro orientamento sessuale, senza compromettere la dottrina cattolica su famiglia e matrimonio?"

In the English translation provided by the Vatican, this is rendered as: "Are our communities capable of providing that, accepting and valuing their sexual orientation, without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?"

The key word "valutando" would be better translated as "evaluating," and, in this context, "weighing" or "considering". The English translation, however, suggests that the homosexual orientation should be "valued", a notion that old fuddie-duddies who are faithful to the traditional teaching of the Church find confusing, to say the least. Any suggestion that the use of "valuing" by the Vatican Press Office reveals a pro-LGBT bias are of course groundless!

Meanwhile... Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith -- aka the Holy Office in the old days when the name was appropriate -- has denounced the report as "worthless". Speaking in one of the Synod’s small working groups after the release of the relatio post disceptationem, the prelate said the document was "completely wrong" in its portrayal of the Synod fathers’ discussion. He added that it was "shameful" that the report had suppressed some points of view while promoting, errr, certain others.

More pushback came from South African Cardinal Wilfrid Napier, who told journalists the document had been misunderstood and that’s why it had caused "such an upset" -- the more so because the relatio is only an "interim report", and the Synod has not yet ended. "We couldn't possibly have agreed on it," he said, yet "The message has gone out, it is not what we are saying at all.... [But] there’s no way of retrieving it. It is not a true position. Whatever goes out after looks like damage control."

In a full page interview published in the Italian daily Il Foglio, American Cardinal Raymond Burke said, "It seems to me that information is being manipulated in a way that gives comment to only one theory instead of faithfully reporting the various positions expressed.... This worries me very much because a significant number of bishops do not accept the ideas of an opening, but few [people] know that."

Curiously, "Bully" Burke did not name those whom he held responsible for pushing the pro-queer agenda. He could only have meant the Vatican Press Office, which, as noted above, supplied the translation. Walt would have thought the Cardinal would have felt a little more freedom to name names, since he's being demoted from head of the Apostolic Signatura (the Vatican "Supreme Court") to exile in the largely ceremonial role as head of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Also on Tuesday, Cardinal Burke told Catholic World Report that the bishops "cannot accept" any changes that are not based in Scripture or Church teaching. He also said that a statement on the issue from Pope Francis is "long overdue". According to Marco Tosatti, writing in La Stampa, the Pope doesn't say anything during the Synod sessions, but contents himself with scribbling little notes which he passes to the Synod’s secretary-general, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri.

Who will defend the Church? New York Catholic leaders fail to respond to Cuomo attack - Radio interview with John Vennari

A month ago, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo -- a pro-abortion, LGBT-loving, womaniser who dares to call himself a Catholic -- declared, in his "state of the state" address, that New York is not big enough for those who want to defend the sanctity of human life against his abortion-expansion plans. That's what Mr. Cuomo said. Here's the exact quote, only slightly edited by Walt: "Who are [the Republican candidates running aginst the SAFE Act]? Are they extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are...they have no place in the state of New York."

"They" would presumably include all good Catholics who accept the teaching of the Church that abortion is murder -- a mortal sin that cries to Heaven for vengeance. Another such sin is sodomy. Source: "Crying to Heaven for Vengeance", by Dr. Jeff Mirus in Catholic Culture.

Yet, a month later, the response of the leadership of the Roman Catholic Church in New York has been virtually inaudible. Why? Where are the Bishop Hubbards, the Cardinal Dolans, and others who should be defending the Faith with all their might? John Vennari, editor of Catholic Family News, discussed this in the context of the diabolical disorientation following Vatican II in a recent interview on Voice of Catholic Radio. Here it is -- audio only, running time 47:19.

US Catholics worshipping Mother Nature or Mother of God?

As if the USCCB (United States Congress of Catholic Bishops) didn't have enough to do -- defending the Faith against the godless Democrats and their (possibly) Muslim leader -- they took a break last week to hold a conference on "the moral and religious implications of global climate change and environmental justice". I'm not making this up.

The anonymous writer of the Traditio website comments: When your New Order sect is drowning in the worst immorality, when your New Order doctrine has become worse than Protestant, when your New Order Sunday service has become some kind of irreligious and invalid "rave," what do you do?... Solution: give up religion and go into politics!

Walt agrees. Nothing deterred by nearly empty seminaries, mere scores of worshippers attending dumbed-down masses, and the phenomenon of Catholics voting to elect a president hell-bent -- literally! -- on destroying Christianity, the Church's "leaders" are embracing the "New Age" religion of environmentalism and its goddess, Mother Earth.

Traditio suggests, with tongue (or pen) planted firmly in cheek, that the Catholic bishops propose to rewrite Our Lord's Sermon on the Mount, as follows:

Blessed are the environmentalists, for they shall save your soul.

Blessed are the carbon credits, for they shall save the world.

Blessed are the those who drive the Volt, for they shall be electrified.

Blessed are those who carpool, for they shall speed to salvation.

Blessed are they who ride the bus, for they shall inhale spiritual diesel.

Blessed are they who freeze in winter, because they shall become one with the icebergs.

Blessed are they who phony up scientific data, because they shall receive a Nobel Prize.

Blessed are they who worship the Environmental Protection Agency, for they shall have the hand of justice imposed upon them.

And Walt can add a new motto for the mainstream American Catholic Church. The motto has to be in English, of course, because even one of the most powerful bishops in the USA -- Cardinal Timmy Dolan -- stated publicly that he can't understand Latin [God's language. Ed.]. Anyway, here's the motto: Never mind your souls; save the whales!
