VIDEO: Victor Davis Hanson explains Americans' beef with Canada

This weekend, Canada's National Post* published a piece headed "Polls show Americans dislike Canada more than ever". The writer argues that's bad news for the Canuck Prime Minister Marx Carnage because his efforts to resolve the tariff war with POTUS, he is constrained because "there’s a point at which Canadians aren't going to accept big concessions [to the US]…until they get an apology" for all the "51st state" and other nonsense.

Ed. scraped this meme from the NP article, but hasn't explained what it means.

The writer goes on to say that Canadians' affection for America tends to rise and fall with whoever's in the White House. It dropped for Dubya, rose for the Prez, and then plunged during President Trump's first term, only to rise again with Demented Joe Biden asleep in the Oval Office.

In the first year of the Donald's second presidency, however, Canadians' fondness for their southern neighbour has plumbed new lows. And vice versa! Americans’ views of Canadians have also made a historic shift -- for the worse. According to a Gallup poll released this month, while most Americans see Canada favourably, that view is shared by only 80% of thoser polled, compared with 91% during the Biden years. That's the lowest level Gallup has seen since 1980s.

One of those no longer enamored of Canada -- or rather, the idiotic, ultra-woke policies of the Liberal government they keep voting for -- is our old friend Victor Davis Hanson. In this video, published on 19 March by the Daily Signal, Mr Hanson talks about countries which he thinks are reliable friends and allies of the US of A. Canada is not at the top of his list, for reasons which he explains. .

*Footnote: You may be interested [or not. Ed.] to know how the National Post got its name. I started to tell the shocking tale of greed and hubris, but it has already reached six paragraphs, so will save it for next time.
