Shock report! Yahoo Canada readers don't trust Trudeau!

Yahoo Canada, like its parent, is a news "aggregator", meaning its landing page "news" stories are just scraped from or links to posts that have appeared elsewhere. It does not originate articles. Well, almost never. A week ago a Yahoo writer named Elisabetta Bianchini posted the following item to Yahoo Canada News. Since it's mostly quotes from readers, Walt thinks Yahoo won't mind our reposting it, verbatim.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continues to face harsh criticism following the release of a report from the ethics commissioner, Mario Dion, stating that he did in fact try to influence Jody Wilson-Raybould in the criminal prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.

On Monday, Conservative leader Andrew Scheer announced that he has requested the RCMP further investigate whether Trudeau obstructed justice, contrary to section 139 of the Criminal Code. "The lengths through which the PMO went to get its way in the SNC trial, as revealed by the ethics commissioner, are truly breathtaking," Scheer told reporters in St. Catharines. "We know that Justin Trudeau has [broken] the law. Now we need to know if he has committed a crime."

Last week, Yahoo Canada asked readers whether they believe Trudeau is a trustworthy prime minister following the release of the ethics commissioner’s report. Of the 32,949 responses, 75% do not believe the prime minister is trustworthy. Readers took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“It is unfortunate that we as Canadians found ourselves in this situation and Justin Trudeau's response to the outcome of the ethics commissioner's report is not helping either.”

“Yes I am reluctantly saying I trust him. I am however HUGELY disappointed in his actions even if he thought it was for ‘the greater good.’ I believe this will cost him dearly.”

“I voted NO to trusting this Liberal government. But in all honestly I've not seen a party in office in a very long time that is trust worthy.”

“Never trusted him in the first place, but honestly, I didn't expect him to be this bad.”

“As a life long Liberal who has worked in Liberal headquarters, I am embarrassed by the current Prime Minister. He is unethical, spiteful, wasteful, arrogant and deceitful.”

According to the latest survey from Campaign Research, with 2365 Canadians polled between Aug. 9 to 13, the Conservative party has a marginal 1% lead over Trudeau’s Liberal party.
