Meet Kevin Omar Mohamed, age 24. According to a Canadian Press report, Kev pleaded guilty in a Toronto court Friday to a "terrorism-related charge", to wit: one count of participating in or contributing to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity.
In an occurrence of politically correct self-censorship, remarkable even for Canada, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada did not provide details of the case but said the maximum penalty is 10 years' imprisonment. Although Mr Mohamed was identified as a student at the University of Waterloo, the federal prosecutor did not say anything about his status in Canada, his nationality, his ethnicity or his religion.
The words "Islamic" and "Muslim" or any variations thereon went likewise unused. The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau government recently secured passage of Bill M-103, which is meant to discourage any action or speech that might provoke Islamophobia. Seems their prosecutorial minion got the memo.
