Heart-warming: a boy and his cow

Amidst all the drama of Charlottesville, Guam, "social justice", BLM and what have you, it's good to be reminded that there is another side to America and Americans that the lamestream media doesn't often show us. Here's a photo published in the Des Moines Register yesterday, showing Mitchell Miner (15, from Williamsburg IA) and Audri, his heifer, resting after a showing at the Iowa state fair.

"She likes to lay down quite a bit," Miner told the Register on Monday. "I don't really understand the bond with my animal either. She just enjoys my company."

I'm not posting this photo to get a cheap laugh or be snide about Middle America. I just like it.

Wisconsin elementary schoolers learn where milk comes from

From America's heartland... or dairyland at least... Wisconsin, comes this delightful picture of some elementary school kids learning how to milk a cow.

Footnote: Walt can't help but notice that the teacher and all the kids are... errr... Caucasians. Not a vizmin in the group. Does the government know about this?

Cow crashes through roof, kills Brazilian farmer

Here's a story you don't see every day... and thank goodness for that.

Police in Caratinga, in southeastern Brazil, say a cow fell through the roof of a small house near the town, killing a man and narrowly missing his wife. Joao Maria de Souza and his wife were sleeping when the one-ton cow fell through the asbestos roof and onto their bed. Sadly, there wasn't enough room for all three of them, and Sr de Souza died at the local hospital, of internal bleeding.

The police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't allowed to liaise with the media, denied that the cow was trying to jump over the moon. Rather, he said, the cow apparently was grazing on a small hill above the Souza home.

Poor Len cannot think of any lesson to be learned from this tragic tale. And it's not funny!
