Five men have been charged following a fight involving multiple tow truck operators in Brampton that resulted in three people being hit by a metal pole.
The incident happened last Hallowe'en in the area of Kennedy Road South and Orenda Road. When officers arrived, they found three people who had been attacked with a metal pole. Two of those were also allegedly assaulted with bear spray.
In a news release today, Peel Regional Police announced the arrest of five men in connection with the incident.
They’ve been identified as 27-year-old Rishav Chopra, 34-year-old Jashandeep Singh, 27-year-old Harmandeep Singh, 20-year-old Tajinder Chopra and 32-year-old Varun Aul.
Note from Ed.: Any resemblance between the Singhs and Chopras charged today and the Singhs and Chopras shown in the photos is purely coincidental. We just searched Google for "Singh+tow truck".
Tajinder Chopra has been charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of assault causing bodily harm and two counts of administering a noxious thing with intent to cause bodily harm.
Jashandeep Singh is facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and three counts of assault with a weapon.
The other three have each been charged with assault.
The Peelers said all the suspects were released immediately aafter their arrest on an "undertaking with conditions", including not leaving Canada on the next flight to India. That, right there, tells you all you need to know about the immigration and justice "systems" of the Great No-longer-white North.
