Your Singhs today ("Brampton men" edition)

Agent 3 has read our plea for help (didja miss it?) and has contributed another item for our file of Sikh, Sikh, Sikh people. This one comes from Brampton ON, the capital of Sikhism in eastern Canada. Yes, and of thefts of cargo trailers, drug smuggling, assaults with cricket bats and other crimes and misdemeanours. The following comes directly (and mostly unedited) from the Peel Regional Police blotter.

Peel Regional Police have arrested another individual and laid further charges in connection to an ongoing investigation that is estimated to include more than five million in stolen cargo. Between December 2024 and January 2025, several victims reported that their trailers loaded with freight were stolen by a transportation company known as All Days Trucking.

Through an extensive investigation, it was determined that Manjinder Singh Bura, a 41-year-old man from Brampton and owner of Bura Limited Inc., was complicit in these crimes. As a result, Bura was arrested and charged on Feb. 19. On Feb. 26, investigators executed search warrants at an address in Nobleton, Ontario, which led to the recovery of additional stolen property. Officers were also able to identify two more companies that were involved in these incidents: Velocity Logistics Inc. and Torque Logistics Inc.

After further investigation, 28-year-old Sukhdeep Singh Brar of Brampton was arrested and charged with the following on April 3:
Theft Over $5000 x17
Fraud Over $5000 x16
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x10

In addition, Bura, who was originally arrested in February, was re-arrested and charged with:
Theft Over $5000 x12
Fraud Over $5000 x11
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x9

Both individuals were held in custody for bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. This investigation remains ongoing, and more charges are anticipated.

Walt's comment: "More charges are anticipated.? More??? Are these guys trying to set some kind of GSOAT record? The competition will be tough... And (innocent question), why don't they do mugshots of these guys wearing their turbans, so we'll have a better chance of recognizing them on the streets when they're released on bail?
